HOUSTON – October 30, 2008 – Amegy Bank of Texas announced today that it will continue its participation in the FDIC’s voluntary Temporary Liquidity Guarantee Program. This program insures 100 percent of deposits that are held in non-interest bearing deposit transaction accounts at Amegy Bank, regardless of the dollar amount, through December 31, 2009.

“Amegy’s participation in this program brings peace of mind to many Texas-based businesses that have accounts for their payroll and payment processing with balances exceeding the current $250,000 insurance limit set by the FDIC,” said Paul B. Murphy, Jr., CEO of Amegy Bank of Texas. “While Amegy is having its best year in the history of the bank, we want for all of our business and personal customers to feel at ease by having access to the most comprehensive protections offered by the U.S. Government.”
